The Rev. Peter Hill passed away peacefully at home in Ullswater, Ontario on December 25, surrounded by his family after a fast moving battle with cancer.
Born, Guelph, Ontario, August 23, 1940. Son of The Venerable F. Allen Hill and Margaret Wallace Hill.
Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 50 years, Nancy, his children, Dan (Leanne Foster), Charles (Pippa Hill-Strathy) and Russell, his six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Adrienne, MaryJane, Olivia, Escher and Jade and his sister Marcia Shortreed (John Shortreed). As a devoted family man and husband, Peter was much loved and was our pillar of strength.
Peter lived a truly extraordinary life. His legacy spanned many communities, including Wigwassan Lodge, St. Joseph Island, Trinity College School, Queen Margaret’s School, Royal St. George’s College, and Christ Church Windermere.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 118 McMurray St., Bracebridge, Ontario on January the 5th at 1 o’clock. A visitation will be held at Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", 1 Mary St., in Bracebridge on January 4th from 4pm - 9pm.
