Obituary for Lorne William Tingey

Lorne William Tingey
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorne William Ernest Tingey, Sunday, May 13th, suddenly at home in his 86th year.
Lorne was a welder by trade, and travelled across Canada during his career, taking him to Labrador, Elliot Lake, and in later years to Vancouver bush camps. He had a strong work ethic.
He was a real go-getter, never one to sit still, always with a smile and a pleasant personality.
When he retired, and came back to live in Bracebridge, he would still be found plying his welder trade making utility trailers and doing odd jobs.
He was also a devout man, regularly attending church services.
He suffered a major vehicle accident in 2015, and our hearts go out to the doctors, nurses and support staff of Sunnybrook whose excellent care enabled our Dad to continue to lead a happy, healthy life.
Lorne is survived by his daughter Debra Blinn (Rick), his son William (Leah), grandson Christopher, granddaughter Nicole, brothers Marvin Tingey (Marion), Sam Lawler (Jo-Ann), Tom Lawler (Peggy), step-daughters Janice Hummel (John), Cheryl Hammond (Jim), and step-son Wayne Terry (Marlene).
He also leaves behind 4 great-grandsons, and nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife, Klora, his parents, Harold and Ellen, and his brother, Brent Tingey.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd, when friends and family will gather at the Reynolds Funeral Home in Bracebridge. Visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. with Minister George Vais officiating. Interment at St. David’s Presbyterian Cemetery in Vankoughnet. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Sunnybrook, St. David’s Presbyterian Church, or the charity of your choice. Messages of condolence may be offered to the family at www.reynoldsfuneral.com.
