Condolences

Condolence From: Phil Chandler
Condolence: Karen:

I am shocked and saddened to just hear that Ted was involved in the recent tragedy at the Muskoka Airport.

I first met Ted when we were both pilots flying out of Big Trout Lake Ont. in the early 80's. Ted was flying with Bearskin Air at the time and I was with a competing airservice. Being an isolated community, all the pilots socialized in the evenings. Ted's mature attitude and flying skills stood out and he was highly respected by everyone.

It would have been the late 80's when we met up again, when we both did some flying for Ramsey Air Service, Sudbury.

I am very sorry I cannot make the Celebration of Life on the 18th.

My thoughts are with you.

Phil

Condolence From: Guido Knieling
Condolence: My most sencere condolonces to Karen, Lea and her sister Kari, and family members from Guido and Joanne.
To sum up Ted in one word, the word 'Gentleman' comes immediately to my mind.
Ted introduced me to Florida riding in March 2007 when he did not even know me well yet. He invited me along to join his group of friends for a most memorable trip that still continues to bring back great memories to this day.
The other amazing thing Ted did for me (and Karen) was to let me work on their house when I was transitioning from construction career to a firefighting career. Many thanks still, to this day.
RIP (Ride in Peace) Ted, old friend; you will never be forgotten!

Though I didn't see Teddy often, I have great memories of him, always smiling and having a great time at Dirstein family events. My parents Marie and Dennis always enjoyed visits with Teddy.xox

Condolence: This is very tragic. I met Karen and Ted at Foundair, and had the pleasure of working with both of them. Ted was the most capable pilot, and some of the most memorable video and photos I've ever taken were of Ted flying that yellow E350

I am so sad for the loss of a very good man. My condolences to Karen and his family.

Condolence: I wish to convey my deepest sympathy and condolences to Karen and family. Also, please accept my "thank you" for sharing Ted with the off-road motorcycling community. I can only try to imagine your sense of loss.
Despite being the same age as Ted, and sharing his passion for motorcycles, we only met in the last ten years, but he left a wonderful lasting impression. In my experience, Ted was never crude, rude, loud or boastful despite the fact that he had plenty he could justifiably boast about. I have learned that he was an outstanding pilot, and I have experienced that he was a skilled 'pilot' of both snowmobiles and off-road motorcycles. His many contributions to Off-road Ontario were instrumental in getting the organization off to a successful start.
