Life Story for Joseph Edward "Joe" Delanty

Joseph Edward "Joe" Delanty
DELANTY, Joseph

Joe passed away peacefully at his home, in Bracebridge, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 7, 2017. He is predeceased by his wife Carol who was the love of his life from the first time they met in Grade 7. Joe is survived by his children Mark Delanty (Anita), Burke Delanty (Leslie) and Diane Evans (Adam); his grandson Brandan Hawco. Joe was a mechanical millwright who worked for TransCanada PipeLines (TCPL) for over 40 years. During his time with TCPL, Joe was involved in all aspects of building and operating a pipeline; the variety of work that he was involved in and the close friendships that he developed with co-workers were instrumental in why he became one of the company’s first 40-year employees. Joe was one of those rare individuals that was capable of designing and then producing a variety of tools and jigs to make the task at hand more effective and safer. Joe was loved by his friends and family and will be remembered by everyone that knew him.

No formal funeral service will be held at this time. In keeping with Joe's wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest, with his wife Carol, at St. Michael's Cemetery, Cobourg, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. Messages of condolence can be extended to the family at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
