I remember the days when Norm loved coming to the farm to visit and often for extended stays at a time. He thoroughly enjoyed his Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Arn, but especially his Aunt Dorothy. They seemed to have a bit of a special connection, with Mom taking him under her wing for a little "extra" help with school work. He loved to fondly reminisce that he received some very special attention - in and out of school.
From smelt fishing as a kid to helping out occasionally during haying season, Norm was a prescence around the farm for many years. Although we could never interest him in riding the horses, he loved the sense of family and I was honoured to include him as a groomsmen in my wedding party.
And when I had my own children he seemed to have that same special connection, that he had with Mom, with my daughter Brittni.
Norm, a simple man with simple needs, will be remembered for his kind nature and his sense of fun and laughter.
God Bless You and Keep You Norm!
