TURNER, Sheila Helen (nee Black)
Born in Schreiber, ON, on September 22, 1925 to Bill and Bunty Black, Sheila lived in Brantford for a few years, then almost 50 years in Pembroke during which time she and Dad operated Camp Wanikewin on the Pickerel River for a number of years. Latterly, she lived in Bracebridge as her health started to decline. Mom passed peacefully at the Muskoka Shores Care Community, Gravenhurst after a long struggle with dementia on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Mel Turner (April 13, 1988). Dear mother of Bruce and his wife Cathie of Bracebridge, loving Gran of Rebecca Butcher and her husband Jamie and great grandmother of Nessa and Finley, all of Bracebridge. She will be remembered fondly by her sister Jean Johnson and her husband Ken of Thunder Bay and nephews Jerry Johnson (Louise), Clark Johnson (Cindy) and niece Nancy Panchuk (Jerry), their families and her many friends made throughout her decades of volunteer service to her church and various community projects.
Friends will be received at Reynolds Funeral Home "Turner Chapel", 1 Mary St., Bracebridge, ON (www.reynoldsfuneral.com) on Tuesday, July 11 from 2-4 and 7-9. Then to the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella St., Pembroke, ON (www.murphyhyfuneralhome.ca) for visitation on Thursday, July 13 from 2-4 and 7-9. The service will be held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 68 Renfrew St., Pembroke on Friday, July 14 at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery.
